In Greek the word 'soma' evolved to mean 'the body living in its wholeness.'  Nicole believes that the body is our greatest teacher and created Soma Counseling  to offer a place where her clients can learn to tap into that wisdom.

Nicole is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, certified as an Integrative Trauma Coach by Aura Institute, trained in EMDR and utilizes somatic therapy interventions and parts work in her approach to healing.

Soma Counseling PLLC was established in 2023 by Nicole Garvey, MA, LPC. She is a Texas transplant who has lived in East Texas for more than 20 years. She has been married for 18 years, has 3 children and two mini golden doodle's named Hank and Maverick. Nicole enjoys being in nature, is always reading at least 3 books at a time (that she sometimes finishes), yoga, and being a safe presence for all those in her life.
